Claire Cogan was born in Northern Ireland and grew up in Coleraine on the North Antrim coast.
She studied drama in the 90’s at Royal Holloway University in Surrey. Where she won the award for Best Performer in her final year. Claire returned to Belfast in 1997, and started to work as an actress for many Irish companies including, Bruiser, Kabosh, Replay and Spanner in The Works. Her work then began to take her further afield and to date she has performed all over England, most notably at The RSC, The Liverpool Everyman, The Drum Plymouth, The Tobacco Factory Bristol and The Belgrade Coventry. London theatres include The Soho, Theatre 503, Battersea Art Centre and The Finborough.
Claire moved back to Leicester in 2003, where she took some time off to look after her young son. She is now back in the land of the living due to that wonderful invention called school! Claire is currently working on her new one woman performance ‘The Bite Size Show’ which had it’s premiere at The Y Theatre Leicester in Feb 2014.
